VBS (continued)

IMHO: I can’t find any reference to VBS in my copies of the New Testament so it is going to have to be based on principle alone. The principle of Godly leadership and doctrine apply. As a leader should I allow my child the chance to be taught something that is error with scripture?

But wait I take that risk every Sunday with people I know and trust. Listening to the mixed messages flowing from the pulpit about security of the believer, salvation, and other doctrinal faux pas … I can’t imagine that being a valid excuse. Right now I think that my view will be to find out what they will be teaching on at the VBS, go over that with the kids so they will know if there are any discrepancies with their doctrine.…

"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers"
- Acts 2:42

"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple"
- Romans 16:17,18

Humm… but those words “AVOID THEM” just seem to jump off the page … it is still weeks away, guess I have more tie for prayer and study on this issue.
