Spiritually Starving

Ok, I still have like three massive posts all queued up in the drafts that are needing a little more thought before I post them, still today I woke up with strange thoughts running thorough my head.

KJV Only ... IT still baffles me that the KJV Only crowd overlooks the preservation of the word in other copies of scripture that they claim kept the KJV pure. I was looking through Bible's last night at the Christian Books tore ... yeah I know I just got a new bible, but it is a hardback edition and although I Am going to switch to it for my study bible, I need a Sunday bible ... either a cover or a leather bound edition. Anyhow as I searched through a couple came over and were awkwardly loud about the KJV only views and how that they couldn't understand why the other bibles were in such number and the KJV selection was getting smaller. I just smiled. I know, not my normal self :-)

I am reading a great book called "What's Wrong With Arminianism?" by Robert Peterson and Michael Williams. Although I am only a little way through I am learning quite a bit about God's own conviction in my life. Ignorance is bliss and as the church happily buses their new sundayschool in to get their numbers and baptism rates up you can look at their concept of salvation for a pointer in their secular viewpoints on ministry. Another post ... don't worry.

Did you know that at The Synod of Dordt in 1618-1619 the church met as a whole and decided that Arminians (Remonstrants) should be removed from the church? That take gumption. Pastors were removed from authority because they didn't agree with the word of God. Not Calvanism just the word of God. Some of them were put to death for their belief in their own country. Great biblical scholars of their day that disagreed and took action. How much of the "church" in America would have their pastor's removed today if the same Word of God was applied to their teachings/preachings ... ok enough of the bully pulpit.

I was listening to a sermon on SermonAudio.com about the "trouble" with Christian Contemporary music and I really enjoyed it, no I didn't agree with every point made by the preacher, still I found myself paying attention to it.

Publish needs to be more of the full story rather than just one part. Clasic Songs like Amazing Grace a #1 hit on the church charts still today covers the theory, going from portrayal of sin being what it is to the redemption through God's Grace while most CCM songs today are about one subject rather than the entire picture. Interesting to say the least.

Still sometimes you need to be reminded of one truth, one aspect of life and God that needs to stand out in your day. I was made to love God and to be loved by God.
